NO SUMMER TOURS FOR HOLE

[3-9-98 Mon] With Courtney Love being busy with film roles, don't be surprised if there you don't see any tour dates for Hole this summer.

Love is prepared to star in "200 Cigarettes" sometime soon, which will be her second movie. "The People Vs. Larry Flint", being her first. She is also getting ready for a role in the movie "Fight Club", directed by David Fincher ("Seven"). The filming for "Fight Club" is supposed to be starting in June.

If you are a Hole fan don't be disappointed. The new Hole album is due out in June. Cliff Burnstein, Hole's co-manager, said that even though Love is busy with her movie career, it won't interfere with her musical duties when the new album debuts. The album is tentatively untitled. Hole is planning to tour, just not during the summer.

Hole is experimenting a bit on the new album. They have already recorded some string arrangements to put on the new record.

PARENTAL-WARNING STICKER BILL DISAPPROVED

[3-9-98 Mon] The Georgia State House of Representatives rejected the bill that stated that it is illegal to sell albums with the parental-warning sticker to children under 18 years old. The bill was disapproved by a vote of 86-62.

The original version said that it would be a misdemeanor prosecution of employees who sold albums with the parental-warning sticker to children under the age of 18.

The bill was changed so that only employees over 18 would be charged, to stop minors from being prosecuted. Other changes in the bill called for a $50 fine for the first-time offense, and misdemeanor charges for the second.

Lenny Kaye, the lead guitarist for Patti Smith, doesn't support the bill and thinks that it is a rediculous gesture towards music censorship.
